Here's a little tidbit from the old days.....
The thread is in the Spam Bin, but here are a few bits. Btw, it's titled "feminists".

That will never happen.
Why?
Because there are 10 times more women who are interested in buying pretty clothes and their hair than those who actually follow politics, and would want to be in power. Looking at the numbers, dependant women outnumber the independant ones at least 10:1. You can see it everyday you pass a schoolyard or mall.

Not only that, but the world is still run by men. In many cases the men who run the world come from nations that hold women in very low regard. Look at the middle east when women are considered property.

I say let the feminists think they're making a difference.
Most of them aren't intelligent enough to know otherwise anyway.

What's another term for independant woman?
Lonely, single, bitchy, etc.....

Above is a prime example of an independant woman.
Isn't it time for you to binge and purge?

If this is your definition, I guess I can't be considered "independent".

However, I hope you teach your daughter the valuable lesson that she shouldn't try to stand up for her gender when faced with piggish comments, because she might then grow up to be an independent woman someday! Horrors!

[B]ouch, you caught my mistake.
touche!

My little girl will be taught not to "stick up" for her gender, but to stick up for herself. Why should she stick up for all of the women when many of them don't deserve it? You don't see me sticking up for a man just because he is a man, do you?

How many times have you dealt with a woman whose only goal in life is to be pretty?
How many women do you know that make you cringe when you hear them speak, because the words that come out are bred from ignorance?

My aunt is one of the most powerful lawyers in Canada. She is revered, and feared by men in the courtroom and the boardroom. I respect her because she didn't waste her time crying out "Women are people too! Respect Women! Equality!". She worked hard and acheived her goals without equal opportunity or lowered standards. She earned a man's job in a man's market, and that is the kind of woman I want my daughter to become. Not one who fights to have the firefighter standards changed because women are physically weaker than men (example: http://www.bucknellconservatives.org...es/allison.htm or http://tspweb02.tsp.utexas.edu/webar...01_female.html or my favorite example http://www.shethinks.org/articles/an00161.cfm).

You are a strong woman and I've seen glimmers of intelligence in the past. It doesn't mean that all women are strong though, nor does it mean that all women deserve my respect. I respect those who respect themselves.

cheers.

classic.
