The water in Crater Lake....oh so clear and frigging freezing!
I really suggest you go on the cruise in the lake, they take you around, take you close to the Wizard island (I think it's called that...the island in the middle)..the Old Man stump (

When I went, it was late August so there was no snow left.
Soundy- I agree, Mt. St. Helens is breathtaking. Even now that little bump still lets off some smoke.
