True and untrue at the same time.
At the shallowest level: Yes, Buddhism is more philosophical and academical than religious.
But only knowing the "how-to's" and the "what-if's" doesn't make one a devoted practitioner; it doesn't even necessarily make one a believer.
It is "simple, but profound wisdom".
