So I have one of those cheap rice cookers. The one button kind. When I cook rice, it spits out sticky rice water out of the steam hole in the lid. Makes a big mess. Washing the rice before cooking helps, but doesn't solve it.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just a case of get what you pay for. And if I were to go out and spend $75 - $80 for a better Japanese rice cooker, would that solve this?
