No. You can see up to 54Mb/s as your theoretical connection speed between your wireless adapter and the router, but even if you're connected at 54Mb/sec, it doesn't mean you can actually transfer data that fast over that connection. The best real world transfer speed you can achieve over 802.11g is 22-26Mb/s, but usually it's probably quite a bit less than that.
