I was going to get the TZ5 until I saw the reviews for the LX3. The TZ5 is also a great camera (for a compact) ... the LX3 is just cooler =) I saw the TZ5 at Costco in the USA for $239USD ... I think that was with a $30 instant rebate ... pretty good if you are on a overnight trip.
