Yes, the restaurant is ghetto. It's been around for I think close to, if not, over 100 years at the same exact location. It has all the same furniture, seating arrangements from way back and it's nasty because it's in the middle of skid row and bums etc. walk in and out all the time but this place has by far, the best tasting seafood platters and fried oysters for the money you'll be paying. Of course, you can't compare to any of the "finer" restaurants some people have listed in this thread.

A few years ago I happened to stumble into that place. For some reason I was passing through that area on foot ... don't ask what I was doing.
Ordered the seafood platter and the red clam chowder. Everything was ... as I anticipated ... greasy and decent tasting ... but for some reason I thought it wasn't worth the little money I paid for it. Maybe it was an off day, but I didn't really "get it".
