According to what you have told us, you were ticketed for excessive speed, not street racing. Your dispute would be for the VT that was issued to you...not for any conversation about anything else. How can you dispute something that you were not charged with?

"I thought that it was an okay speed since everybody around me was going the same speed. Stupid, I know but it's not like I was going 80+ and cutting people off." I would suggest that this is NOT a good way to defend yourself. Trying to bring up any conversation that had no bearing on the excessive speeding charge, would not be permitted as it is irrelevant. The court will only hear sworn testimony to support or defeat the charge before it. Save yourself the embarassment of being told this in front of the others in court that day.
