I would like to get my licence but I would like to know how many ranges allow pistols (I think the gun club in Richmond only allows Rifles?). Also is it true when hunting or camping you can't bring a pistol but rifles are ok?? Just want to justify if its worth it...but I kinda want one if the world goes crazy lol.

I got my licence with that guy, he runs the course out of his house in Cloverdale.
Pistols and other restricted firearms are only allowed to go from your house to the gun range. If you need to take it to get it fixed and want to take it to the gun store you need to get a special permit. Unless you have a special carry permit (ie back country archeologists) you are not allowed to take a gun camping. If you do and get caught you will loose your licence, gun and receive a hefty fine and criminal record.

Its much more fun shooting a rifle at targets over 200 meters or shooting clays with a shotgun rather than just shooting a pistol at targets 25 meters away.
