Both. Regular 10/100 router plus gigabit switch.

Connect Internet modem to router.

Connect router to switch.

Connect all computers, Xbox, and PS3 to switch.

This way you have DHCP and Internet access for all clients, plus gigabit connectivity between all the clients.
