Ive never owned a laptop and Im thinking of fixing a laptop my brother left behind. Its a Toshiba satellite P20. these are the specs:

Pentium 4 3.40 GHZ
1 gb ram
Geforce FX Go 5700

The screen need to be replace. I found it on ebay for $109. You can still see an image so I do have another option! use an external monitor and remove the broken lcd?
I just want to know if this is worth my time to fix. It will be used for gfx design and some gaming. It also shuts off after 10 min of use, someone said it was over heating.
