um well Jacob is like God, the other guy is like the devil, and they are warring with each other...the losties are pawns. I thought it was pretty damn clear. The devil found a loop hole to destroy Jacob...by having Ben stab Jacob. Jacob always said to each Lostie including Ben that you have a choice...the free will so to speak. I don't know how obvious the show could be. So the mystery of the island is that it's run by Jacob (god) and the devil trying to screw with the people on the island. When the lady went into Jacob's cabin, she said Jacob hasn't been here for a long time, someone else was there it was the devil. Hence all these visions of the dead appeared on the island such as Jack's dad. It was the devil screwing with the peeps. Locke was dead also, so that means the devil has been posing as him the whole time to push things a certain way that lead to last nights conclusion. One more thing. What lies in the shadow of the statue?: "He who will save us all"
