thank you. this is relevant to my interests.
That's the thing. If you are looking for some games like CS, I really don't think any netbook is for you other than the one equipped with good video card which is over $800 I believe.

You see, every netbooks out there are pretty much the same IMO. Similar CPU, similar HD, similar dimensions, SAME video card. They even have very similar price. Therefore, the only thing left is how much you want to spend. The more money, the bigger screen size/battery. Don't take my word in the wrong way.

For most people here, 1000HE is the only choice because out of the same everything, the battery lasts much longer and keyboard size is a bit bigger. Not because it's anymore powerful than one another, but the add on features.

IMO, ppl buys netbooks because they are good deals. And as in deal's point of view, top 3 are 1000HE, Aspire one 9", MSI U120.

You said it yourself earlier,

"i'd rather go a bit cheaper if i can. or is anything cheaper unable to do the things i want at a decent speed?"

Cheaper or not, it's about the SAME performance among all the netbook. I told you Aspire One if you want it cheap. I don't tell you this out of no where, but because I have 2 Aspire One and a 1000HE. I can't not tell the difference in speed when I browse the web, listen to music, run similar programs.

I DID NOT tell you "get this, don't bother checking out anything else". Nor is my recommendation on Aspire One a "give me the cheapest netbook out there" answer. There are netbooks cheaper than Aspire One, but Aspire one is good value for a good price. I know some people hates AAO, but I like it beside the keyboard size. It serves me very well for 6~8 months.
