If you offer more then $2,615,623 you have to give up a 1st and a 3rd round pick to the team you poached from. More then $3,923,434 it's a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. More then $5,231,246 two 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. Lastly if greater then $6,539,061 it's four 1st rounders.

Except that this is not the case for Chicago where their mistake could essentially make those players free agents that do not need to be compensated.
