OP's talking about running it at FULL at HIGH resolution. For me, that means everything turned up plus at least 4xAA/AF, and something like 1680x1050 or higher. And if we're talking Crysis, judging by the benchies done by test sites - one of which I linked up there, you need a fairly robust system if a i7 965 + 6GB + GTX 295 1792MB is cranking out an average of only 50fps.
Plus, if he wants to be playing games and not bother upgrading for a while, there's nothing to do but to go to the top.
