That is absolutely correct.
No one get's paid in post tax dollars, but different places have different tax rates.
BTW, years ago when the cdn dollar was very weak, I remember hearing about players who played in Canada were getting paid in Cdn dollars so after conversion, they were making less than some of hte players in the US.
