no silly, learn to read, I did it the proper way. disassemble fully, bend x clamps slightly for proper pressure, put the DVD drive back on so you don't get bant from XBL, power it up to see if the pressure was enough (but it wasn't) then power it off and plug in the fans BUT place them so that one fires up/down on the CPU and not the GPU, allowing the GPU to warm up (without overheating) but not heating anything else, after about 10-15 mins power it down, let cool for 15-20 and start it up. the temp to melt Pb-free in such small amounts is pretty low.
I was gonna add an extra fan while I was in there but I didn't have any that fit so meh.
