If you're a keener, you can make decent dinners ahead of time so they take next to no time to make.

Eg: I will marinate and freeze chicken breasts for camping, then by the time I get to eat them they are thawed out and can be thrown directly on the grill.

I'll do the same thing with pasta, pre-cook it, add sauce, then stuff it in a heavy zip-loc bag and then all you have to do is toss the bag in a pot of boiling water and reheat it.

My buddies with their chunky soup, kraft dinner and hot dogs are always envious of my meals when we go camping.
