I for one don't believe that just because someone achieves success, one is also obliged to take a heavier social role. I prefer that the concept of self-responsiblity in comparison to pointing fingers and telling others how to live their lives. If so, then those parties are no better than religious zealots.

Kids look up to athletes therefore they are role models. I don't disagree that parents need to do their job but like 44 said, "it is what it is".
