no, really...Mainlanders are different from hongers, twangers, japanese,
korean. They do not have that "oh, foreigners are so cool" thing. They stick
with their own group. Even a honger cannot understand what mainlander
chicks are thinking, cause they are raised differently.
Just treat them normally, you are asian? too right, so I guess the barrier is
half gone. Learn how to speak basic mandarin is a must, just speak slowly.
So it shows you really want to talk to her. Even your dialect sounds funny,
they will still think you are cute. If you see them get scared, just back off a
bit and ask them what do you everyday...
something like that...Some of them are friendly and not close minded anyway.
