What would you like him to back up? His playoff stats for a very few games are in the stratosphere of playoff goaltenders. He could post a 1.00 GAA for every playoff game and it wouldn't matter if that one goal is the only one scored between both teams. The other 20 guys still gotta put up more points than he allows.
Yeah, Ward has a Cup in his rookie year... playing in front of a trapping team. Does that make him "better" than Lu? What does he have since then? ONE other playoff appearance (08-09). 8 wins in 18 games and a second-round exit. Ooo. Doesn't prove a thing. Kipper? ONE run to the big dance, four early exits since. Ooo, also overrated. Nabokov? Eight playoff appearances, NO cups, and a whack of first- and second-round exits. Oooo, way overrated.
