The screen measurement of any TV is a diagonal measurement. For a 37" you're probably only looking at about 30" wide, plus the bezel (I'm too lazy to do the actual math, but it's not difficult). The listed specs for any TV should include the actual dimensions - for example, this 37" Samsung lists as about 36" total width:
