That really is my main issue, besides Phaneuf being a chicken shit, is that Okposo was already checked by Dawes, and there was another Flames D man covering him and Phaneuf still feels its necessary, in an exhibition game, with his roster spot safe, to cross the ice leaving his D position to hit a player in an extremely vulnerable position.

like said before, i dont think clean hits need to be fought over..
yes, i feel bad for okposo, but you cant have a fight after every clean, yet devastating hit.
people fighting for stupid reasons is why the nhl is being pressured to look into banning fighting.
why does phaneuf need to fight? did he get a penalty on the play? i dont think he did. and that gave the energy to the flames, and they popped off the win. and i think the a good majority of the energy the flames got, was boosted off phaneuf's hit.
if it was dirty, and phaneuf left his feet or threw in an elbow, by all means he should be punished, or fight for throwing a douche bag hit.
but there is only milliseconds btwn when okposo was shoved by dawes and when phaneuf hit him. there was really no way for him to stop...and as you can see from the beginning of the video, phaneuf was already hooking in for the hit before dawes hit okposo. it was game over right at the start of the video for okposo
i wish him well and hope he gets back on the ice soon though
