Be warned that the boost packs restrict you from several things. First, if you equip a boost pack you cannot add more boosts by individually choosing ones for skates/gloves/stick, however you may still equip a helmet and use individual boosts for it. Second, any additional attributes you add to your skater through experience points do not count with a boost pack equipped. Basically the boost packs were designed as a simple add on for new users so they could compete with experienced players who have individually upgraded all of their equipment and attributes.
One complaint I have is that you cannot view what each different boost pack upgrades until you buy/unlock it. I got the Power Forward one and it kinda sucks.
BTW has anyone noticed that some NHL players are ridiculously oblivious to hits? I have a checking attribute of 85 and tried throwing three hip checks onto Derek Boogaard and each time he was unphased and my skater acted as if he was hit and fell down. Any other skater I throw that kind of hit onto results in them being crushed onto the ice and sometimes an injury.
