The PuCKS Powerplay Foundation (Promoting Community through Kids in Sport™ - charity # 84877 0780 RR0001) offers children in financial need, children at-risk and children of newly re-settled refugee & immigrant families the opportunity to progress in life and school by way of hockey. In invite you to watch the online video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWajVBCfw-E. Currently, 90 marginalized children in Langley are being given this chance. Many of these children are participating in 2-4 hours of hockey and 1-3 hours of “Lit-Fit”™ (homework club & literacy program) each week. PuCKS builds kids’ capacities. The program encourages the development of personal assets for success in school, career and life. It reinforces empowerment ~ discouraging entitlement and learned helplessness. It emphasizes selflessness and a giving-spirit.
To the mod - don't know if I am allowed to put it here - so please delete if so.
