What I'm specifically speaking of is that there's more behind the number of an age than just the phsyical differences between a 2 people of varying age. Mathematically the higher the age, the more likely the accumulation of injury. There was a time when Lindros can dish and take hits but in time, it all adds up. Its likelier with Toews age that his injury repertoire would not be anything similar of Lindros' when he took the hit from Stevens.
Yes concussions can have very severe effects on a person of any age but its not always the "Kiss of Death" like SumAznGuy would like to make it seem. What people seem to ignore to account for is that people have varying tolerances to injury or pain. Mathematically speaking,
I'd bank more on the chances of a younger guy withstanding an injury rather than that of an older man.
I guess the closest metaphorical word I can find right now is that in a sense mileage. And everybody feels it eventually one way or another.
