I think I have 7 looking the way I want it now. oddly I think it runs better with the fancy stuff than when I have it looking like 98. or maybe that's just because I expected it to run like shit/noticeably slower. I think I'm gonna give this "pin to taskbar" business a shot too. Now if I could only make the taskbar a little thinner it'd be perfect.
slightly offtopic but is there any way to remove Vista from my other partition while leaving everything else alone?

You can make the taskbar thinner, just flick on small icons. I'll check my laptop for where it is in a bit.
