Vuze is a search browser, torrent client, and media player all in one... so as you're viewing/downloading video on it, you're also streaming it back out to others.

What's happening here is that copyright holders (the movie/TV studios, rights organizations, etc.) will go out and search torrents of their properties, then attempt to download them... make note of the IP they're coming from, and then contact that ISP, saying, "Hey, we're downloading our stuff from this IP of yours, make them stop!"
You have no idea how many people I've explained the above to. People seem to think downloading is the issue all the time, when it's really their uploads - i.e. distributing copyrighted materials without the owner's consent.

BTW, downloading music is/used to be legal, but now it's kind of up in the air. You can read about some of it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_sharing_in_Canada

Honestly, too many people use BT. Hop onto usenet, and you never have to share again. No stupid elitist BT sites requiring invites, no stupid ratios - just download.
