For the second straight season, the Vancouver Canucks could be in a position to add a former Swedish all-star to their lineup.
General Manager Mike Gillis told the TEAM 1040 he is pursuing free agent Peter Forsberg who has openly expressed interest in returning to the NHL and suiting up for Team Sweden at the Olympics next February.

A Canucks official confirmed the team has scouts at the Karjala Cup, a Swedish tournament that Forsberg is playing in. Forsberg denied reports he was set to join Bars Kazan of the KHL and says he will not make a decision on his future until after the tournament.
Forsberg had 14 points (1-13) in a nine game stint with Colorado two seasons ago, before suffering yet another foot injury.
