The UAV and Counter-UAV are now visible, they look like airplanes, and they can only be taken down by a rocket like the AT-4, Stinger or Javelin. Best to take it down ASAP so you can see your map. Same goes for the Pave Low, Harrier, AC-130, Apache, and Hind if you don't wanna get rolled lol.
EDIT: Reason I never tried the Holosight is because I never noticed the difference, but I see a bit better aim after using it with my L86 setup. MG4 is a little weak for firepower, but it's SO accurate at long range.
In this pic, have a look at the sky? See the plane-looking thing? THAT is the UAV/Counter-UAV. Shoot it down with a Stinger shot, you only need one.
