as you probably don't know, at optimal level, given that you two are the same agents, your expenditure minimization problem and his utility maximization problem yields the same demand function.
that is, even if Jeffield minimizes expenditure, his food demand function will still kick a normal human being's ass (assuming everyone is poorer than him "as we all know"), since his demand function for food is probably "undefined"
