yea 1920x180 is the highest res a single link dvi port can display (every card with dvi is at least single link dvi) as long as you dont expect to run any high end games you will be fine.
as for 32" vs 40" i'd go with 32" (the brands dont matter since both are instore house brands made by random companies), 1080 will look better on a 32" sitting real close at a desk.
