Here's a great list of good TV's.
I personally would stick with a plasma TV, just because you get better colour and no motion blur.

A better list because you can still get and awesome 1080P plasma for about $1,000 and spend the extra money on some awesome speakers. Those tiny LCD TV speakers are junk.
