Totally, when I get back I'm gonna start lighter with high reps and work my way back up

It drives me absolutely NUTS just thinking about how long I'm gonna be out for.
I'd guess at LEAST 3 months
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I talked to a guy at the gym who had a hernia when he was 12, got surgery done, popped it again a year later cause he went straight back into playing hockey and basketball
