I thought Asian jerky (typically a Singapore tradition) is either pork (ground or sliced meat) cut into fine layer and cooked over charcoal to get the taste.. vs American ones are marinated and dried/smoked, they are done with chunks of beef.
Honestly those are 2 different products.
