Bad time to build a PC now?

Looking to build a new PC for myself so I can give the old one to my family..

But for some reasons, the same parts I am looking at are now more expensive then they were 3-5 months ago...

Harddisk I got for $50 a few months ago is now $65..
a Phenom 955 + mobo combo from newegg is now $250 + shipping, but 3 months ago the 945 + mobo combo was only $220...

Does PC parts go through some sort of price cycle?
And are we expecting anything new soon? (i.e. CPU/HD) Any chance prices will go down a lot in the next 1-2 months? (i.e. 15%-25%?)
