$46 x 12 months x 10 years = $5,520 <----Amount you spend on pet insurance in 10 years.

$5,520/500(any surgery and a day at the vet) = 11.04 trips to the vet.

I highly doubt my dog will get need 11.04 day-long/overnight trips to the vet in 10 years....
I've had my dog for 2 years now and I've had to take him to the vet once for illness and it was for something that was quite avoidable.
Also, it only came to like $200.
