Using dual 25.5" monitors right now. I think 24" is probably the idea size for most. I sit roughly 1m away from mine and I think it's borderline too big. The other thing to take into consideration is if you stay at the 1920x1080/1200 resolution, your dot pitch will get larger as the screen size increases. With my 25.5 I notice that text isn't as crisp as it was on my 20". I think 24" puts it at just the right dot pitch for regular viewing.

I go dual as I have my work PC running on one screen on a virtual machine, and my other screen is for personal/other stuff and can multitask on both.
