Chris 'Okibi' Wakefield Playing sports > watching sports. I'm going for a nice walk while everyone is sitting on their asses getting drunk in the middle of the day.

I'm building the set for my play. Apparently reading break for me meant no reading, no partying, I've been stuck in a theatre for 8-12 hours a day building and rehearsing. Theatre program ftw!

At least you see your work manifest right in front of you. That's a lot more empowering than watching sports all day.

Absolutley. I feel a great sense of accomplishment looking at the set and being like "yeah, I helped build that"
It's awesome. So much work, but so worth it.

Walking isn't a sport.

I never said it was. It's a lot more constructive than sitting around in the middle of the day, though.

I played amateur soccer for over six years. I played paintball at a semi-professional level for over five. I jog three times a week. And DJing at shows is a quite a workout when the place is packed. Athletics doesn't have to be organized, that's the beauty of it.
Watching sports is passive. Engaging in anything is at the least an active project. Building a set, painting, enjoying the sun - all activities that better the self.

Passive? Not if you watch it with passion. You should see my restaraunt right now, no one is sitting. Everyone is on their feet cheering. We even have one guy running laps with a flag as a cape! Remember we aint cheering for the Olympics. Were cheering for our country.

I don't care about countries. Or sports teams with billions of dollars. That's not what athletics are about.
If anyone wants to play some street hockey or kick a ball around just give me a shout.

And without this country you or your ideals wouldn't exist. So as much as you fight government etc. You have to love canada.

I'm a second generation immigrant. My ideals would exist just the same in the Philippines or Britain. I love this bioregion - the ocean, the trees, and the people who live here. But that doesn't mean I have to recognize the artificial borders that compartmentalize it.

Chris 'Okibi' Wakefield So now that the game is over, we can start paying off the $7 billion it cost to put it on. Say hello to a 92% cut to the arts, HST, cuts to social services, and public debt!
