I don't think it's gonna work as true 3D... all the technology that allow 3D display without glasses so far need to be viewed at certain angle, and angles are very limited as far as I'm aware.
There's a reason why all major display producers opted for some form of stereoscopic 3D.
unless Nintendo comes up with certain 3D optical touch-sensing (currently a technology developed by Sony) or Project Natal-ish control that interact better with the 3D viewing angle, else I don't see how exactly it's gonna work.
