dont tech too early, most newbs try to do that. u cant mass just one unit, even if its a tier 3 unit.
never have a lot of money in the bank unless you're protoss and you plan to warp in and entire fucking army (make sure u have enough warpgates to keep up or enough probes! LOL)
scout... scuot scout... if they're going early tech, counter it. if they're massing ground units, counter it.
u cant just stick with "one" plan.
don't suck.
