So me and my friends had reservations at db bistro moderne beside lumieres on W.broadway yesterday, and we had the $38 menu.
Appy: I had the curried cauliflower soup. The curry spice kinda ruined it for me and I found it too rich for my taste. My friends all had the Pork Terrrine which looked like spam. I tasted a bit of that and I thought it was better than my soup
Main: I got the swordfish dish. The plate was very tiny. Just 3 small cubes of swordfish on top a bed of chinese style stir fried vegetables that were really salty. A friend got the Rock Hen Duo and that turned out to be the best, which basically was chicken and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes didnt even tasted like real potatoes and more just like the packaged powder stuff.
Dessert: This was the only thing I enjoyed. I got the Rhubarb sundae which was just a crumble with ice-cream with lots of ginger-flavoured whipped cream.
Overall:
Food was 2.5/5 with small portions and tastes were just meh.
Service was 3.5/5 the waitress was very nice and prompt. decent service
In the end, I wouldn't go back..
Should of spend my $38+ elsewhere and be full and satisfied.
