It's all about perspective. You keep talking about how it's so important for you to choose your battleground and defend your honour. Well, which battles you choose also says a lot about you.
For instance, you mentioned that you weighed the pros and cons of the battle, and decided that since, if it came to it, you could win the physical battle, it would be ok to engage. To me, this says that your honour is worth defending, but only if you are sure you can win, otherwise, it's just honour, you would let it slide.
The other thing that can be noted about the battle you chose to fight is regarding where you are in life. Someone who is clearly not on the same 'moral highground' as you decides to call you out. You take so much offense to this, that you feel the need to stop what you're doing and where you're going to defend yourself, or your peanuts, or your anus, or whatever.
Now let's pretend that instead, that it's not you, it's Bill Gates, and it's not racist guy, it's a bum off the street. If a bum stopped Bill Gates, called him a worthless yank who has failed in life, and who can't raise a family, and also noted that his mother is a whore, what do you think would happen?
Well, according to you, the bum just pissed all over Bill Gate's 'honour', surely he should defend himself! Well, if you would allow me to assume for a second, I would guess that Bill Gates would care less about what the bum has to say, and walk away. He has more important things to do, and more importantly, the opinion of the bum doesn't matter one lick.
The battles you choose say a lot about your life.
I guess instead of responding to this thread, I really should have just bought a ticket to board the failboat, since that's what'll probably happen once all the RSers wanna get your back. Good thing it doesn't bother me
