Apple CEO Steve Jobs says next iPhone will have clearer screen, 2 cameras
SAN FRANCISCO - Apple CEO Steve Jobs says the next iPhone will have a clearer screen and will be noticeably thinner than previous versions of the device.
Jobs kicked off Apple's annual conference for software developers Monday by discussing improvements in the influential touch-screen device.
But he didn't initially disclose the price or release date.
The newest model is called iPhone 4. It is less than 10 millimetres thick.
The previous iPhone, released last year, was about 12 millimetres.
It has a higher-resolution screen and a front-facing camera, which could be used for videoconferencing.
Jobs called it "the biggest leap since the original iPhone."
