To be honest, I don't know how well this videocall technology will do, even with Apple pushing it. Look at how many people are still using their old standard non internet first gen razr flip phones. In Apples case, too bad you need WIFI to videocall.
Personally, I would hate to have an iphone4 and have the wife call me and be able to see where I am with the guys.
But like you said, Apple will definately spend the money to promote this technology to the point videocall's become a regularly used term like Xerox is for copiers, Coke is for a cola soft drink, and Ipod is for mp3 players.
