Personally, I would hate to have an iphone4 and have the wife call me and be able to see where I am with the guys.
But like you said, Apple will definately spend the money to promote this technology to the point videocall's become a regularly used term like Xerox is for copiers, Coke is for a cola soft drink, and Ipod is for mp3 players.

Speaking of which, some girl gave me shit at the club the other day because i whipped out my razr... man this thing is old, lasted me longer than all my friends phones though
Luckily my contract ends in July so i'll be switching to an iPhone. I just don't know if its going to be worth it to shell out extra dough for the the iPhone4.
