I have a D-link DIR-615 wireless N router. I went into the Admin setup and found QOS setup tab.

My router only gives a couple options, 1) QOS engine on/off. 2) automatic uplink on/off.

There are no port configurations for me to enter manually. I guess my router sucks.

I read that the QOS on my router is automatic configured for gaming though, i dunno how well it does compare to high end router that allows you to enter manual port preference.

For consumer routers the only way to tell it to prioritize one type of internet traffic over the other is based on which port a program is communicating on.

Usually browsing over the internet is on port 80, and secure internet (https) is 443. So if you can tell your router to prioritize traffic on port 80 over any other port, it should improve your web browsing/media streaming. As long as your streaming media through a browser, if not, you'll have to determine which port your streaming app is using.

If you still can't find it, your router may not support it, post up the model.
