People always believe that technology will improve everything (and yes, its awesome having the things we have today), however, technology causes us to focus on other things and creates new problems (example, people used typewriters at work, computers were introduced, people started to do more than just work with computers). Or how about the Zamboni incident at the skating oval. Yes, its a "nice to have" but it causes other things than work to happen. I mean you wonder, why didn't anyone just check to make sure the Zamboni was working properly? Its such a simple task.

Result from this added technology is that the referee becomes "lazier" and he starts to miss other calls. Next thing you know people will want cameras following every player to make sure nobody gets hit. After each hit, ref gets someone to review the tapes causing the game to become even longer. Shit, all of a sudden you realize we're watching FOOT-BALL, not "futbol".

I'm actually excited for this game, it should be pretty good
Refs are human and make errors too. They are not to be blamed for missed called. We live in the year 2010 when cameras are EASILY accessible. It woulda taken them no more than 1-2 minutes. Ref walks over to the side with a tiny tv. They show it's clearly in. Overrule the goal. Done. Flow barely disrupted. CORRECT call is made. Game is no longer determined because 1 out of thousands of people in the stadium missed the goal.

And what then? What if it was called on side and it was off? Or a dive was an actual hit? Do we have more free kicks or do we put players into the penalty box for 2 minutes?
If you watch a sport like hockey then the rules are only goals are allowed to go to video replay. Any other calls like offsides or penalties are not allowed to be reviewed.

Nothing feels worse than losing because of bad call. Not losing 10-1, not losing 2-1 ion a tight game.
