A big thing that I look at are your quality of posts and maturity level overall on Revscene. This includes looking at post count, join dates, Thanks and Fails as well. If you have 100 posts and joined last month and have 81 fails in 8 posts then chances are you won't be considered for this position.
If you have reported posts in the past then you have already been recognized as a contributing member of Revscene by myself and other moderators.

Is that a bit discriminatory. I think everyone should have an equal shot to prove themselves. I also think too many people put such a huge emphasis on fails/thanks. I know personally there's people who are failing me just because they can or if they don't agree with my opinion on a subject matter.
And because of this even if I contribute something worthwhile that deserves a thanks I am not getting any thanks to my credit.
