more specifically with Fido do they just charge the $159 and call it a day or do they do some hokey stuff like in iPhone release years prior... charging $399+tx for the phone on the first invoice and then giving a credit of $200+tx on the third invoice. in the end you only ended up paying $199+tx for the phone but had to shell out the extra $200+tx for two months and then got it back later as a bill credit.

no idea how it works with fido, but when i did my HUP for rogers yesterday at the apple store, they just add it to my next bill. $159.99 for 16GB + $35 activation.
